Searidge Technologies’ Digital Ramp Solution Goes Live at Hollywood Burbank Airport

The system went live as Hollywood Burbank Airport opened its new terminal on October 13 — giving ramp controllers real-time visibility across the ramp and gate areas

OTTAWA, Canada — November 3, 2026 — Searidge Technologies today confirmed that its digital ramp control solution is fully operational at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), going live alongside BUR’s new $1.3 billion passenger terminal, which opened to the public on October 13.

Delivered in partnership with prime contractor Rosendin Electric on behalf of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority (BGPAA), the system gives BUR’s ramp controllers a comprehensive, real-time view of all ramp and gate areas from a dedicated Virtual Ramp Control Room. Redundant stitched arrays of high-definition fixed and pan-tilt-zoom cameras provide panoramic coverage of the ramp and adjacent movement areas, displayed on a large shared video wall alongside two fully redundant Controller Working Positions, each with on-demand views, resource management system access, and surveillance data.

The solution is integrated with the airport’s ADS-B ground surveillance data, giving BUR controllers their own independent feed of aircraft traffic across the operational area, displayed directly on the digital panoramic view.

The system is also built on a flexible, open digital architecture, giving BUR an infrastructure framework it can scale over time — adding new applications and data sources as traffic grows — rather than a fixed, single-purpose installation.

The system is designed to give ramp operations teams a consistent set of benefits, including:

  • Earlier awareness of developing situations — stand conflicts, congestion, and ground activity issues surface while there is still time to act on them.
  • Less coordination overhead, faster alignment — teams work from the same real-time picture instead of describing it to each other over radio.
  • More effective use of existing ramp capacity — a shared live view of the ramp lets teams see whether a stand is clear and act on stand changes and conflicts sooner, making fuller use of the stands already in place.
  • Operational resilience and continuity — ramp control is not tied to the sightlines of one building, giving airports contingency options during disruption or future construction.

“The new passenger terminal is a tremendous step forward for Hollywood Burbank Airport, and we wanted the tools supporting our operation to keep pace. With real-time visibility across the ramp and gate areas, our team has more awareness of what’s happening on the airfield, enabling them to meet the demands of our busy common-use terminal environment more quickly and efficiently.”

— Keenan Cummings, Director of Operations, Hollywood-Burbank Airport

“Congratulations to the entire Burbank team on the opening of the new terminal. It’s a huge milestone for the airport and the community it serves. Searidge is honored to be part of it, and even more excited about what comes next: BUR now has a ramp control foundation built to grow right alongside the airport, through this next phase and beyond.”

About the BUR Passenger Terminal Project

The new passenger terminal is a replacement for Hollywood Burbank Airport’s original terminal, which had been in service since the 1930s. The new 355,000-square-foot facility includes 14 gates, a centralized ticket lobby and security checkpoint, expanded concessions, a new baggage screening system, and a larger parking garage with EV charging.
