Searidge ATC-Grade Video System in Operation at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport

System provides controllers with improved situational awareness of aircraft traffic to/from airport terminal

San Antonio, Texas – May 19, 2014

AAAE Annual Conference, booth 507. Searidge Technologies, provider of surface management solutions to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and airports, announced that their ATC-Grade Video system passed site acceptance testing and is operational at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG).

At YWG, the Searidge ATC-Grade video system is monitoring traffic in the apron area and two adjoining taxiways north of the airport’s terminal building, providing NAV CANADA’s air traffic controllers with a complete stitched view of the apron traffic so they can safely and efficiently advise pushback.

“Collaboration with Searidge has led to a successful deployment of their ATC Grade Video system,” says Michael O’Gorman, Vice President Operations, Winnipeg Airports Authority.“ The Searidge system immediately improved the air traffic controllers’ line of sight of the specified area which will increase throughput of the airport and result in a more efficient operation.”

“Winnipeg is an excellent example of the benefit of our phased approach methodology, where the customer sees results in the short-term. YWG is experiencing increased situational awareness today as we work to deploy phase 2 of the project which will include integration with the airport’s A-SMGCS to provide smooth hand-off from two-taxiways to the new apron area,” says Alex Sauriol, Executive Vice President, ATM/Airport Solutions.
